The Possession is a pedestrian horror film–a toned-down, lackluster version of The Exorcist, with a Jewish dybbuk standing in for the devil. Strong performances in the lead roles just aren’t enough to save an uninteresting plot. More about the movie, and the high and low points, can be found in my review at buzzymag.

An excerpt:
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is in a familiar role here, the devoted dad dealing with supernatural forces–John Winchester as a basketball coach. He does as well as he can with a humdrum script.
